Jerry Kearney

Director

Jerry is a director of the company as well as an experienced design engineer.

 

Graduated from Kingston University in 1995 he worked for a Mowlems undertaking major road projects, including the M18 and M25. In 1996 he then moved to a Structural Engineering Consultancy in Esher working around London and the Home Counties, before helping set up a contracting firm in 2004. In 2006 he went travelling through South America and his trip terminated in Dunedin, New Zealand, where he became a structural engineer for NZ’s 3rd largest consultancy where he became head of the structural team and then regional manager working for national and international clients. Works included civil projects across all major disciplines including marine engineering and structural engineering involving earthquake design and assessments. Jerry became an award winning engineer, winning the 2014 NZ Commercial Project Award Gold Medal and the Oakwood Properties Earthquake Strengthening Heritage Award.

 

Jerry formed part of the emergency response team following the Christchurch earthquake in 2010 undertaking emergency safety assessments across the region and became the main advisor to Cunningham Lyndsey Loss Adjusters Major Projects team in the $1 Billion Christchurch City Council Earthquake Claim.

 

Jerry became a NZ Professional Engineer and International Professional Engineer in 2012.

 

In 2015 Jerry finished his travels around Asia prior to returning to the UK to join kPa Consulting. Since his return he has predominantly worked in the residential and commercial market.

 

Outside of work he enjoys mountain biking, running and hiking and is attempting to take up surfing.
